Alien Invasion Body XYZ was a class project focused on creating a three-angle animation. I built the piece around the idea of an alien invasion quietly entering a familiar public space.
Using footage I recorded around the Washington Square monument, I composited a spaceship model sourced from Sketchfab and animated it floating around the monument. The project included multiple shots from different perspectives: one showing the UFO hovering around the arch, another showing an alien figure emerging from a pothole, and a final scene where the phrase “WE ARE HERE” appears hidden behind the surrounding buildings.
The project explored how 3D assets, real footage, and text can be layered together to create a short cinematic sequence. By placing sci-fi elements into a recognizable city environment, the animation turns an everyday public space into a staged moment of invasion, mystery, and interruption.
